The secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (CPN) has decided to make Vice President Bamdev Gautam a member of the National Assembly. The meeting held Wednesday at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, has decided to take Gautam to the National Assembly. According to him, the cabinet will recommend the appointment of Gautam from the President to the National Assembly.
The meeting rejected Gautam's condition that the National Assembly should also amend the constitution so that the members of the National Assembly can become prime ministers. And, according to the demands of Gautam, the previous meeting to amend the constitution has broken the task force.
Earlier, members of the National Assembly demanded that the constitution be amended so that they could become prime minister.
