Sri Lanka will do well to ponder over exactly how did they lose this one. They had NZ on the mat in the first 10 overs, got off to a flier with both ball and bat but gave it away in the final 10 overs to lose by 35 runs. Three wickets for Ferguson and Sodhi while one wicket apiece to Southee, Kuggeleijn, Bracewell and Santner. T Perera top scored with 43 off 24 but it wasn't enough to take Sri Lanka over the line, as they return from NZ shores without a single win on this tour.

Tremendous effort. Lockie's had a great summer so far. Lots of cricket ahead. (I'd like to) thank Sri Lanka for the entertainment they have provided and wish them all the best for Australia.

We bowled well for the first 16 overs, but still I felt 180 was possible on this ground. I think the batsmen still don't know how to win games, that's why we are on the losing side. We always talk about using variations and using the conditions. I think the bowlers did that well today. People have to understand how to win the match and how to get the team across the line. Most of the time we are not very clear.
